The April 22 game was postponed due to rain, resulting in a day-night doubleheader being scheduled for April 23. Xander Bogaerts had two home runs, as Boston was held to five hits total. In the second game of the doubleheader, the Tigers went ahead 3–0 in the fourth inning.
